 :i!:i i 'i!! i ): iii[i 2 AsKov AMERICAN Thursday, January I, 1953 Finlayson Program Presented A beautiful Christmas program was presented at St. John's Lutheran church December 23, by the com- bined Sunday schools of the Ameri- can Lutheran congregation and the St. John's Lutheran church. In addition to the verses and songs presented by the children and adult choir of 12 voices sang "Oh Holy Night" and "Sing, Sing, Sing for Joy." Miss Helen Mack sang a solo "Lullaby on Christmas Eve." A special offering of $39.86 was re- ceived and will be given to the Lu- theran Welfare society of Minneapo- lis. Mrs. Minnie Schlapkohl, Rudy and Paul, entertained the following on Christmas day, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Kreuger and Denny, Mrs. Ernie Brademan and family, all of Clo- quet. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Makela and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Groth and song and Mr• and Mrs. Rudy Efram, Darlene and Roger, of Sturgeon Lake. Mrs. Minnie Schlapkohl, Rudy and Paul, Mr. and Mrs. William Groth and sons, Herbert Sprandel and Lan- dus Thompson, all enjoyed a "Lute- risk" supper Christmas eve, at the Walter Makela home. David, Jimmie and Gary Brade- man were overnight guests last Thursday at the Walter Makela home, while Mrs. Ernie Brademan and daughter, Elaine, were overnight guests at the Mrs. Minnie Schlapkohl home. John Johnson of Minneapolis was a business caller in Finlayson Mon- day. Enroute to his home, he stp- ped briefly at his parental borne'in Sandstone. Mr. and Mrs. Urho Tapanila and family were guests of Mrs. Bernie Koski Monday. The American Lutheran congrega- tion will have services at the St. John's Lutheran church January 15, at 8 p. m.
